Planning a Tented Event in Lakewood Ranch
Because Lakewood Ranch straddles the Manatee–Sarasota county line, the permit rules for your tent depend on which side of the line your address falls. Since May 2026, unincorporated Manatee County has required a temporary tent permit for tents larger than 120 square feet or intended for 10 or more people, in addition to any zoning or event approvals. Addresses on the Sarasota County side follow Sarasota County requirements.
